Attorney Matthew G. Midgett

Attorney Matthew G. Midgett earned his J.D. at Georgia State University of Law after graduating from the University of Georgia with a B.B.A. in Finance. While he was in law school, Matthew gained a wealth of experience in criminal law while he served an internship with the Georgia Justice Project.

After he graduated from law school, Matthew gained even more hands-on experience in Workers’ Compensation Law, Personal Injury Law, and Insurance Defense while he worked with various law firms located in Atlanta and Savannah. Now, Matthew applies all of his experiences to his work at his own law firm, providing individuals and families with a range of legal services such as Family Law, Personal Injury, Civil Litigation, and so much more. Matthew graduated with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Georgia in 2001 with a major in Finance. After working as a Financial Intelligence Officer for a major regional bank for several years he attended Georgia State’s College of Law and earned his law degree in 2008. While in law school, Matthew was the President of the Moot Court Board and a pupil in the prestigious litigation honor society, the Bleckley Inn of Court. Prior to establishing his own firm, Matthew gained valuable experience in the areas of worker’s compensation, personal injury, criminal and family law matters.

About Matthew

He was born in Fort Stewart, Georgia and raised in a military family, moving frequently around the United States and the world. This coupled with his passion for representing clients in family law matters gives him specific insight into the issues that arise for both active and retired military individuals and their dependents going through divorce and child custody cases.

During the past several years, Matthew has focused his efforts on representing those individuals going through family law legal matters including divorce, custody, child support, legitimation and parental rights.

Matthew is admitted to practice law in all Georgia courts and the Northern, Middle and Southern District Courts of Georgia.

Matthew lives in Savannah with his wife, Julie, and their pets Murray and Leon. They are avid sports fans, especially rugby, where Julie serves as the coach of the Savannah Shamrocks women’s team and Matthew serves as the President and Captain of the Savannah Shamrocks men’s team.
